Description and objective: This course describes the main principles of modern wireless communication networks of all kinds, with reference to mobile systems and WLAN's, as well as broadband access networks. It emphasises the increasing convergence between networks and broadcast systems towards future broadband multimedia networks and the wireless Internet. It explores the principles underlying all such systems, and describes some of the current and future systems, including the new 3Gmobile standards. Suitability: For engineers and managers responsible for the design, development and implementation of current and future wireless networks.
