Description and objective: Understand reasons for operator training
Appreciate main causes of accidents
Recognise need for personal safety and use of protective clothing
Identify all major controls and components of machine
Carry out daily checks and basic maintenance
Interpret any safety warnings on machine or in Manufacturer's Handbook
Mount/dismount and start/stop/park in the correctly
Ride the machine in a safe and competent manner, whilst maintaining all-round observation and assessing changing ground conditions

Suitability: There are one or two day courses available - novice. Both are practical courses that will allow you to obtain an Operators Certificate
