Description and objective: This workshop will support students who will be able to demonstrate:

- understanding of the nature of risk and its application

- understanding of the general purpose, role, benefits and processes of insurance, including underwriting and claims

- knowledge of how the insurance market works and is regulated

- the basic legal principles of insurance within the context of their work

- underpinning knowledge to support competence under FSA regulations

Suitability: Anyone who offers advice on general insurance products, seeking a good background on the general insurance market and how it works or studying for the CeRGI examination
