Description and objective: This training is to provide the basic skills necessary to give assistance in the absence of a fully qualified First Aider until professional medical help arrives.
The syllabus includes:
First aid priorities
Managing Incidents
Basic Life supports
Examination of a casualty
Unconsciousness
Control of bleeding
Burns + scalds
Regulations
Recording + reporting
First Aid kits
No final exam, those who have reached the required standard are issued with the certificate which is valid for three years
