Description and objective: As human beings, we tend to behave depending on the culture in which we are surrounded, and in order to do so, prejudice and bias become a normal part of our existence.
The key, however, is to be self-aware and recognise our own prejudices in order to use suitable methods of communication depending on the situation we are in and the people we are talking to. This includes accepting people not as stereotyped groups of characters, but as individual people, with differing needs, behaviours and cultures. We believe diversity is about accepting responsibility for your own actions, and whether they are acceptable within the situation at the time. This is ultimately what diversity is about.
In order to create a base minimum level of understanding and awareness, we have created a compact three hour session for staff members that can be rolled our across the board. This will enable delegates to appreciate and value each other as individuals to create a more efficient working environment.
