SITO/NOCN Level 2 Award in Security Guarding

Description and objective: This award is approved by the SIA for the purposes of applying for a Security Guarding licence.

Part 1 (22.5 hours) coveres the roles and responsibilities of security operatives, customer care skills, health and safety, how to deal with incidents and emergencies, civil and criminal law, the control of keys and equipment, assignment instructions and reporting.

Part 2 (7.5 hours) is practical scenario-based training covering communication skills and conflict management.

Both parts are assessed by a multiple-choice examination paper.

Suitability: The course is suitable for anybody who wishes to work in the Security Industry and needs to prove their competence in order to apply for a SIA Licence.
