Description and objective: For any training to be effective, it must be focused in the right direction to ensure that the right people get the right training at the right cost. This is where Training Needs Analysis (TNA) is crucial in determining that any training provided meets the specific requirements of both the organization and the individual.
In the 2003 CIPD Survey of Training and Development in the UK, the respondents analysis of the most obvious changes in the training world during the past 5 years were as follows:
·Training is more geared to meet the strategic needs of the business - 91.9% agreed.
·More bespoke training is being delivered with the aim of solving specific organizational problems 89.5% agreed.
·The training department is more a facilitator of learning than a provider of instruction 78.1% agreed.
With results such as these the provision of an effective TNA is crucial to ensure that any training and development adds maximum value to the organisation.
We define TNA as:
·Identifying the range and extent of training needs from business needs.
·Specifying those training needs very precisely.
·Analysis of how best the training needs might be met.
This 1-day course guides delegates through a variety of processes available to them to establish an effective TNA. Such processes range from group facilitation methods through to 1:1 interviews and the use of e-questionnaires and remote analysis. By the end of the programme, delegates will:
·Fully understand terminology in relation to TNA.
·Be able to apply this theory to their workplace situations.
·Be able to link TNA to the other 3 elements of the training cycle vis a vis training design, training delivery. and Return On Investment analysis.
·Be able to link their training and development programmes to the overall Business Plan of their organisation.
The word Neos is Greek for new, unique or novel. This explains our ethos of training and development. As specialists in the provision of training for trainers, all Neos Learning courses use a combination of Accelerated Learning and other Brain-Based learning techniques. This means that our delegates receive the current theories of learning and development in a style that exhibits best practice training.
The course is designed for a maximum of 15 delegates and assumes that the delegates have some working experience of training and development within organisations.
